Labour law changes 'bleak for workers'

Further reform of employment laws offers a bleak forecast for workers, Labour says.

Prime Minister John Key indicated yesterday that National would go into the election campaigning on more changes to labour legislation.

He would not reveal details but said "we are not talking dramatic changes".

The Government has already opened up the controversial 90-day trial scheme for workers and implemented greater restrictions on union access to workplaces.

National would campaign on future changes when it was in a position to announce what it was doing, Mr Key said. "But I would expect there to be one or two changes we'd be proposing.
